Why we built TryDraft as an AI-powered canvas
Every writer, designer, and founder knows the moment: a dozen half-formed ideas, all fighting for attention, and a blank document that only lets you type one line at a time. The tools were linear, but the thinking never was.
The canvas, not the document
TryDraft flips the model. Instead of a page, you get an infinite canvas — a place to drop rough notes, snippets, references, and prompts wherever they make sense to you. Structure emerges as you work, rather than being forced up front.
The AI isn't a chatbot bolted onto the side. It lives on the canvas with you: expand a fragment into a paragraph, pull three ideas together into one, or ask for ten more directions to explore. You stay in control of the shape; the AI helps you fill it in.
The goal was never to write for you. It was to keep up with how fast you think.
What thousands of people taught us
Since launch, TryDraft has been embraced by thousands of makers who use it for everything from drafting launch copy to mapping product strategy. The lesson has been consistent: give people a space that matches how their mind actually works, and they'll do their best thinking in it.
We're just getting started. TryDraft is one of several products we build at OriginBits, and it embodies how we think about software — fast, focused, and genuinely loved by the people who use it.
